Though I’ve been busy, there was no way I could pass today up without shining light on my favorite author of all time, and one of the namesakes of this blog.
Today is Toni Morrison Day! In honor of the Queen Mother’s tenth novel release, BookRiot.com has a ton of fascinating links dedicated to her work: Welcome to Toni Morrison Day!
Also, check out the NY Times review of Home here: Home, a novel by Toni Morrison
I have heard nothing but good things about it. Can’t wait to add it to my collection!
And that is all!!

The East Harlem Scholars Academy is accepting donations of child-sized college T-shirts. The last Friday of every month, scholars wear T-shirts representing various colleges. It is part of an effort to instill the importance of attending college at a very young age. Most of the children have parents who never attended or graduated college and/or who cannot afford the extra expense of buying T-shirts. This is why they need your help.
All you have to do is purchase a T shirt (kids size XS-4, S-5/6, M-7/8, L-9/10) of YOUR alma mater or your favorite college and have it sent directly to the school! Most schools have online stores and you can order them like that!
Simple right? Yes and the impact you will make in a young person’s life will be long-lasting
Mail all T-shirts to:
East Harlem Scholars Academy

C/o Jackie Robinson Educational Complex

Thank you!

This is how my friends boomed on me in my night season as well… They let me be radically ridiculous and loved me tough and truthful. Everything didn’t turn out alright - it’s currently turning out AMAZING…

Dear Fuss,
Worrying is like rocking in a chair. It gives you something to do, but doesn’t get you anywhere.
